Kurz gesagt

In brief

This website does not set cookies, contains no JavaScript, embeds no content from other providers and uses no third-party analytics or advertising services. Even the typeface is loaded from our own server. We only process the data that technically arise when a website is accessed, the data of rejected connection attempts that are logged to protect the server, and the data you send us yourself.

When you visit the website

For every request to exafusion.com the server keeps a log containing: the IP address and port of your device, date and time, the address requested, protocol and encryption of the connection, the response code, the amount of data transferred and the duration, and the information your browser sends (in particular the browser identification, the previously visited page and the preferred language).

Purpose: operation and security of the website – finding errors, detecting and fending off attacks – and statistics on access that only the operator can view. The data are not passed on to third parties.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the purposes stated.

Retention: the log files are renewed continuously; completed files are deleted after about six months – an entry may be older by the time its file was in use and may remain until the next renewal. Messages of the system services, which may also contain IP addresses, are kept for about one year. Extracts for individual analyses may be kept longer by the operator.

Protection against attacks

Connection attempts to services that are not public are rejected and logged with the header data of the packet – among other things IP addresses, ports and time – in order to detect and fend off attacks; to investigate individual anomalies, packets may also be captured briefly. These entries are kept for about six months (26 weeks); extracts and captures for individual analyses may be kept longer by the operator. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you write to us or call us

If you send us an email or call us, we process your information to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if the request concerns a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f). Emails are deleted once the request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Service providers

Hosting: netcup GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany; the server is located in a data centre in Nuremberg.

Email: Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) for the mailbox of the email address above. Microsoft stores the mailbox data in data centres in Germany; for the filter that checks incoming email for spam and malware, Microsoft commits to the EU and the EFTA states. For maintenance, support and defence against attacks, Microsoft may process some data outside the EU and EFTA or access them from there; Microsoft bases such transfers to third countries on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46 GDPR).

Domains: Strato manages the domain names (DNS). Strato accepts email for some addresses of the domains exafusion.de and exafusion.eu and forwards it to the mailbox of the email address above; it does not remain in the mailbox at Strato. According to Strato, deleted emails are kept for up to 30 days for recovery, and mail server logs for at most six months.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with netcup. The domains and Microsoft 365 run through an account of the domain holder at Strato; data processing agreements with Strato and Microsoft are in place for it.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21). Please contact us at the address above.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority responsible for us, the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin (datenschutz-berlin.de).
